Dress Code
Academic Attire for Students
All LBUSD elementary schools require that students follow a uniform clothes policy. Please read our guidelines so that you will be fully aware of what is and is not acceptable in student dress at Whittier Elementary School. Students are expected to be dressed in the appropriate uniform daily. Whittier's uniform policy will be strictly enforced!
Whittier School Uniform
Tops:
- White, light blue or dark navy blue solid with a collar (exception: Whittier t-shirts)
- Long or short sleeves
- Turtlenecks are acceptable
- No strapless, spaghetti straps, off the shoulder, low-cut, or tank tops
Bottoms:
- Dark navy blue solid pants, shorts, skirts, or jumpers
- Waistband bands are not to be 2" larger than the waist
- No spandex or lycra
- No logos or writing, larger than a thumb on clothing (exception: Whittier t-shirts)
- No oversized, baggie-style clothing
- Belts must be a fitted length and end must be tucked into the belt loops
- No jeans/denim (of any color)
- No sweats (solid leggings are OK ONLY under skirts or short
Outerwear:
- Sweaters, sweatshirts, or jackets in uniform colors
If students elect to wear jackets that are not the school colors of black, white, light blue, or navy blue, they must be removed in the classroom.
Footwear:
- Shoes must cover the entire foot
- No sandals or any other open-toed or open heeled footwear may be worn
- No high heels may be worn
