Welcome to Webster Elementary
Webster Elementary is a wonderful place to learn! We are a transitional kindergarten through fifth grade school located in culturally diverse west Long Beach. Webster provides students with a strong instructional program, and the opportunity to be a part of a Dual Immersion program and community. High expectations for academic achievement are coupled with the right of all students to a safe and secure school environment. We encourage all of our students to become life-long learners and contributing members of society. We believe all students can learn and succeed. Our teachers and support staff work very hard to make sure all of our students receive the best possible education.
Bilingualism is a bridge to success!
The Webster Dual Immersion program merges the most successful aspects of bilingual education with a strong academic program. The program implements a 50/50 simultaneous learning model of instruction. This means that starting in Kinder, students are fully immersed in both English and Spanish! DI empowers students to achieve the highest social and linguistic skills to give them the edge now and for future success. The program goals are:
- Ability to think, speak, read and write fluently in two languages!
- Have daily opportunities to practice a new language!
- To foster knowledge and appreciation of other cultures!
